Abstract

The disclosure provides a system and method to logically group multiple branches of a financial institution. According to the method, various service outlets can be defined for a single branch. Privileges, controls, information and processing may be based on logical grouping of such service outlets. Further, the service outlets may be grouped for different purposes in different ways. The system also provides a facility to define logical set or sets and associate service outlets to these sets without the need to create a hard-coded predefined set. Users can maintain and modify such sets based on their need.

[0002]The disclosure provides a system and method to logically group multiple branches of a financial institution. According to the method, various service outlets can be defined for a single branch. Privileges, controls, information and processing may be based on logical grouping of such service outlets. Further, the service outlets may be grouped for different

purposes in different ways. The system also provides a facility to define logical set or sets

and associate service outlets to these sets without the need to create a hard-coded predefined

set. Users can maintain and modify such sets based on their need. BACKGROUND

[0003]The present technology allows creation of branches or sub-branches that are tightly attached to or linked to a branch. There is no flexibility for a banking user to define multiple

logical groups of branches. In addition, the facility to define common parameters applicable

at a service outlet level may not be possible and is restricted to the branch level. Further, the

following limitations also exist: Multiple sets of branches cannot be created. There is no facility to have service outlet set as a criterion for the user to choose a different functionality. The user cannot create or delete a service outlet set. Further, the user may not be able to modify an existing service outlet set.

[0004]In light of the foregoing, there is a need for a system and a method that overcomes the above limitations.

[0007]The system and method disclosed allow defining an entity smaller than a branch as a service outlet. A user may define common parameters applicable at the service outlet level and not at the branch level. The user can also define accounts and products applicable to a specific service outlet. The user can define general ledger for a service outlet. An administrator may set access levels for various users with respect to a specific service outlet. Any number of service outlets may be defined and modified based on requirements. The user can use the service outlet set as a criterion for inquiry.
