Abstract

This disclosure proposes a process for sanity checking of an application by scaling down the performance benchmark (PB)/performance certification (PC) environment into a staged area (SA). In the SA, all tiers of an application are installed on a single server of lower capacity. The database of the SA has only seed data. For any PB/PC, sanity checking is performed only for the seed data. Since the sanity checking is performed only for the seed data (i.e., database of SA) instead of the full scale environment, it saves the overall time spent and helps in resource optimization during the sanity checking.

Method for staging area for performance benchmarks for sanity check

BACKGROUND OF THE DISCLOSURE

[0001]Presently, sanity checking methodology for performance benchmarking and performance certification is available. However, the present sanity checking methodology suffers from the following drawbacks:

i. One has to wait until full scale environment set up is completed;

ii. Before execution of performance benchmarking and/or performance certification, one has to wait for sanity checking; and

iii. Since the sanity check process is performed using full scale environment, it leads to a waste of hardware and/or software resources.

[0002]Since the present sanity check process have multiple drawbacks as mentioned above, a new sanity methodology for performance benchmarking and/or performance certification to reduce/eliminate the above mentioned drawbacks is required. The reduction/elimination of above mentioned drawbacks helps the organization optimize the hardware and/or software resources and overall time spent on sanity checking.

ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE

[0003]This disclosure proposes a process for sanity checking of an application by scaling down the performance benchmark (PB)/performance certification (PC) environment into a staged area (SA).
