Abstract

The purpose of this invention is to allow the attachment of a screen jacket to another article without distorting the screen gage. This Invention is a split ring that is compressed around the screen jacket and welded to prevent loss of flow restrictive contact between the ring ID and the Screen Jacket OD. The weld also increases the compression onto the screen jacket due to the cooling and shrinkage of the welded Ring after the welding process has been completed. The area of the Ring welded is on the OD of the C-Ring and away from the Screen surface. Welding on the Screen surface creates a heating and cooling that warps the screen gage which must be maintained to prevent screen failure. Once this Ring has been securely attached, another member can be attached to the C-Ring without contacting or distorting the Screen Jacket.
