Abstract

This document reveals compositions for personal care and/or cosmetic use comprising besides other ingredients a functional polymeric in the following named as "Component A", "Component B", "Component C", or "Component D", acting as a film forming and/or solubilizing an/or dispersing and/or stabilizing agent and/or acting as an agent to adjust and/or modify rheology and/or viscosity of said compositions and/or providing other beneficial properties to said compositions like pleasant sensory during and/or after application and/or during and/or after use, improved spread ability, wetting, affinity to biological substrates like hair, nails, eye lashes/and/or lips, improved stability during storage, improved stability against biological contamination, improved compatibility with other ingredients, improved setting of hair styling compositions, improved maintenance of hair stylings under high humidity climate conditions, synergistic effects together with other functional ingredients (i.e. boosting functional properties of other ingredients or creating new beneficial effects). Components A to D are synthetic styling/thickening polymers with the following weight % polymer composition: Component A: 49.00 % Ethylacrylate, 40.47 % Methacrylic Acid, 10.00 % t-Butylacrylamide, 0.50 % C16-18-Alkyl-(EO)25 –Methacrylate (e.g. active content in Lutensol®AT 25 Methacrylate and/or Visiomer®C18 PEG 1105 MA), 0.03 % Pentaerytrittriallylether. Component B: 49.00 % Ethylacrylate, 40.48 % Methacrylic Acid, 10.00 % Methacrylamide, 0.50 % C16-18-Alkyl-(EO)25 –Methacrylate (e.g. active content in Lutensol®AT 25 Methacrylate and/or Visiomer®C18 PEG 1105 MA), 0.02 % Pentaerytrittriallylether. Component C: 49.00 % Ethylacrylate, 39.97 % Methacrylic Acid, 10.00 % Methacrylamide, 1.00 % C16-18-Alkyl-(EO)25 –Methacrylate (e.g. active content in Lutensol®AT 25 Methacrylate and/or Visiomer®C18 PEG 1105 MA), 0.03 % Pentaerytrittriallylether. Component D: 46.00 % Ethylacrylate, 40.97 % Methacrylic Acid, 10.00 % t-Butylacrylamide, 3.00 % C16-18-Alkyl-(EO)25 –Methacrylate (e.g. active content in Lutensol®AT 25 Methacrylate and/or Visiomer®C18 PEG 1105 MA), 0.03 % Pentaerytrittriallylether. To provide the cosmetic formulations vide infra the polymer could be used as a powder or as a water-based emulsion, e.g. an emulsion with a polymer content of 20 – 50 %.

Components A to D are synthetic styling/thickening polymers with the following weight % polymer composition:

Component A:
49.00 % Ethylacrylate, 40.47 % Methacrylic Acid, 10.00 % t-Butylacrylamide, 0.50 % C16-18-

Alkyl-(EO)25 -Methacrylate (e.g. active content in Lutensol®AT 25 Methacrylate and/or Visiomer®C18 PEG 1105 MA), 0.03 % Pentaerytrittriallylether.

Component B:
49.00 % Ethylacrylate, 40.48 % Methacrylic Acid, 10.00 % Methacrylamide, 0.50 % C16-18-

Alkyl-(EO)25 -Methacrylate (e.g. active content in Lutensol®AT 25 Methacrylate and/or Visiomer®C18 PEG 1105 MA), 0.02 % Pentaerytrittriallylether.

Component C:
49.00 % Ethylacrylate, 39.97 % Methacrylic Acid, 10.00 % Methacrylamide, 1.00 % C16-18-

Alkyl-(EO)25 -Methacrylate (e.g. active content in Lutensol®AT 25 Methacrylate and/or Visiomer®C18 PEG 1105 MA), 0.03 % Pentaerytrittriallylether.

Component D:
46.00 % Ethylacrylate, 40.97 % Methacrylic Acid, 10.00 % t-Butylacrylamide, 3.00 % C16-18-

Alkyl-(EO)25 -Methacrylate (e.g. active content in Lutensol®AT 25 Methacrylate and/or Visiomer®C18 PEG 1105 MA), 0.03 % Pentaerytrittriallylether.
