Method and Apparatus for Validating the Functional Compliance and Performance of SAE J2534 devices

The SAE J2534 standards specify a number of interfaces for supporting manufacturers' vehicle communications protocols. It is difficult and time consuming for manufacturers to comprehensively and consistently verify that devices comply with the J2534 standard and any manufacturer-specific functional and performance requirements.

Method and Apparatus

An unsupervised method and apparatus is proposed that can rigorously, consistently, and comprehensively validate that a device is compliant with the J2534 standard and any manufacturer-specific functional and performance requirements. The solution would execute a number of tests and produce a detailed report.
