Abstract

Phase separators or terminal shrouds can be used in switches. Up to now, the phase separator/terminal shroud is fixed through a guiding slot in the switch. The phase separator/ terminal shroud can be inserted into the switch via the guiding slot which is placed on the front of the switch. Thus, additional space for the guiding slot is required. Furthermore, the installation of the separator or terminal shroud is disadvantageous in regard to the switch outline view.

Phase separators or terminal shrouds can be used in switches. Up to now, the phase

separator/terminal shroud is fixed through a guiding slot in the switch. The phase separator/ terminal

shroud can be inserted into the switch via the guiding slot which is placed on the front of the switch.

Thus, additional space for the guiding slot is required. Furthermore, the installation of the separator or

terminal shroud is disadvantageous in regard to the switch outline view.

Therefore, a novel switch feature configuration is proposed to fix the phase separator or terminal

shroud. The novel solution can be used for both installation and de-installation and is depicted in

Figure 1. Two sink slots (2) are put on one side of the side wall of the switch (1). The phase separator

or terminal shroud (3) is provided with two feature groups. Each feature group consists of one fixed

feature, the so-called fixed guiding slider (4) and one flexible feature, the so-called flexible hook (5).

The phase separator/ terminal shroud can be inserted in straight way into the switch by means of the

guiding slider, as shown in Figure 1. The phase separator or terminal shroud can then be fixed closely

to the switch by the flexible hook. In Figure 2 the connected phase separator and terminal shroud are

shown. In particular, the guiding slider is designed in such a way that a limited distance between the

slider and the hook is kept (see Figure 3). This is advantageous, because distortion and destruction of

the hook can be avoided during operation. To de-install the phase separator/ terminal shroud, the

phase separator/terminal shroud is p...
