Method and System for Physical-Mailbox-Style Electronic Mail

Disclosed is a method and system for a physical-mailbox-style electronic mail. A user is able to send an electronic mail to a base electronic mailbox. Sending an electronic mail to a base electronic mailbox implies that a sender sends the electronic mail to the occupants of a particular physical address. For example, sending an electronic mail to address "1000 Main Street/City YYY" means that the electronic mail is delivered to a base electronic mailbox associated with all the occupants of the physical address "1000 Main Street/City YYY". Thus, all occupants of the address "1000 Main Street/City YYY" may access the electronic mail. This may create a privacy issue if an electronic mail meant for one occupant is opened by another occupant.

For example, if AAA, BBB and CCC are occupants of the base electronic mailbox 1000 Main Street/City YYY, sending an electronic mail to AAA/1000 Main Street/City YYY ensures that the mail is only accessible to the occupant AAA and not to the other occupants of the address. The names associated with the base electronic mailbox may be managed by a mailbox authority such as, the government or a private corpor...
