Reverse engineer response file for automated silent install of Maximo and Middleware Products DB2 and WebSphere

The Automated Installation program is used for installing Middleware and Maximo® to an environment using a few simple clicks. The Automated Installation program is created by using a generated response file specific to the computer and then executed silently to automate the installation of either Middleware or Maximo.

The Automated Installation program addresses two points of the Maximo installation

process that was felt could be optimized. The first is the simplicity in getting a running

environment up as fast as possible. The second is the speed in which it can kick-off a Middleware/Maximo installation. The prominent feature in which The Automated Installation

program gives the end-user is the ability to experiment with Maximo before modifying its

parameters for a more specific type of installation through the launchpad. Secondly, internally

the program can be very useful in two fields of testing - IVT (Integration Verification Testing) and Installation Verification testing. The program lets other groups install Maximo without any

prior knowledge of Tivoli®'s installation process which is useful for Integration Verification

Testing (IVT). The program was created from a testing standpoint to improve installations for testing purposes.
