Part 1: Overall summary

Goal:
This invention aims to help users easily understand email-based conversations.

Approach:
Structure and visualize all exchanged emails using reply information (refer to Part 2 below)

Users can dynamically change the visualization mode of the structured email conversation (Refer to Part 3&4)

Advantages:
Users can instantly understand the flow of a conversation, thus reduce time spent dealing with emails
The invention is performed on the receiver side, which does not require any changes from the sender's point of view
Providing an interactive user interface allows users to easily keep up with related emails.

Part 2: Embodiment

E-mail structuring process :
This invention make use of a Comment Mapping Table (Figure 3) to structure the overall structure of email conversations.

The Comment Mapping Table is constructed through the following processes:
First identify comments from newly received emails using symbols such as ">, >>, |".

Store those comments while mapping them to their commented sentences.

Attach unique ID information to each email to enable easy comment identification
