Creating a Level 4 junction using a selective lateral orientation profile nipple (SLOPE) in the lateral liner to provide a positive, depth and azmith for a tubing conveyed directional perforation. The perforating will create communication between the mainbore production and the lateral production.

Creating a Level 4 junction using a selective lateral orientation profile nipple (SLOPE) in the lateral liner to provide a positive, depth and azmith for a tubing conveyed directional perforation. The perforating will create communication between the mainbore production and the lateral production.

The Level 4 SOLV ml System is made up of existing Equipment but used in a different manner. The first component is the Standard liner hanger or packer with a SLOPE nipple located in the string. The lower orientation device, in what ever form it takes, provides a positive depth and azimuth for creating the junction. The Whipstock is made up, RIH, and landed in the orientation device. The window is milled and the milling assembly is pulled from the well. The lateral drilling assembly is run in and the well is drilled to the lateral liner target depth. The Drilling BHA is pulled from the well. The Whipstock is removed. ( this could be the complete whipstock or it could be the new LD Whipstock) If it is the new LD whipstock, the top comes off and is pulled out of the hole leaving the lateral diverter whipstock in place ready for the lateral liner to be deflected out the casing exit into the open hole. If the standard whipstock is used, the whipstock is pulled from the well the LD whipstock is made up and installed into the lower orientation device.
