Disclosed is a method and system for adjusting position and posture settings based on dimensions of a user. The position and posture settings are adjusted based on comfort levels and line of sight of a user.

The method and system disclosed herein analyzes a photograph of the user to determine the dimensions of the body of the user. The photograph may be captured once the user has entered the vehicle or when the user opens the door of the vehicle. The dimensions may include, but are not limited to, length of legs, torso, arms, neck, etc. and placement or height of the eye of the user. Thereafter, position settings of one or more elements in the interior of a vehicle are modified based on the dimensions to provide an increased comfort level to the user. In an instance, a characteristic that is modified may be the seat position. An optimal seat position is determined based on distance to gear pedals, gear shifter, dashboard controls, and safest position with respect to air-bags. Thereafter, a field of vision of the user is determined based on the seat position and the resulting location of the eye of the user. Based on the field of vision, angle of the mirrors are adjusted to result in an optimal line of sight.
