Shipping rotating items across storerooms is achieved through the use of the new Inventory Usage application. Previously, the users would have had to "Transfer In" or "Transfer Out" rotating items one at a time to get the items across storerooms. With the Inventory Usage Application, multiple rotating items can be shipped in one step.

Shipping items internally can involve complex use cases such as applying an inspection process to the items when they are received at the destination storeroom. Inspections are further complicated when they are being performed on rotating items.

Rotating items are those items where the balance is tracked by individual assets. An example of a rotating item would be a laptop. The laptop would have an item number associated with the form, fit and function of the laptop. The balance of laptops in a storeroom though is constituted of individual asset numbers that track each instance of the laptop.

The disclosed invention is an enhancement that uniquely addresses the requirements of performing inspections of rotating assets that are transferred between storerooms via a shipment. The core idea addresses the "Change Inspection Status for Rotating Items" dialog found in the Receiving application and the process around accepting/rejecting the assets. The enhanced process includes the following steps:

1. The new Inventory Usage document's status is "Shipped".

2. The items transfer out of the originating storeroom.

3. Items and/or shipment lines have an "Inspection Required" flag set to "true" if the item needs to be inspected upon receipt.
