Abstract

[0003] EXTRACT, COMPARE AND REPORT (ECR) TOOL is used to extract the seed data from a database instance and this snapshot of the database can be referred later offline for various purposes during the implementation. This report extracts the values from all the parameter/configuration tables. This report is used as a record for the configuration and the values can be later used as a reference for all the subsequent changes or troubleshooting also

BACKGROUND OF THE DISCLOSURE

[0001]This disclosure relates to validating configuration data by generating reports for seed tables during various phases of implementation and post implementation.

[0002]Conventionally no system identifies if the testing/ staging database instance has parameters configured properly against the benchmarking database instance.

ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE

[0003]EXTRACT, COMPARE AND REPORT (ECR) TOOL is used to extract the seed data from a database instance and this snapshot of the database can be referred later offline for various purposes during the implementation. This report extracts the values from all the parameter/configuration tables. This report is used as a record for the configuration and the values can be later used as a reference for all the subsequent changes or troubleshooting also.

[0004]The ECR tool can extract data from the database and compare it against a benchmarking database and present the final report. ECR is designed with an objective to minimize the time taken to validate the configuration data by generating reports for seed tables during various phases of implementation and post implementation.
