Abstract

Here we propose a system and apparatus of a agent framewok of virtual solution. It is composed of a method to organize resource and corresponding management functions, as well as a system that enables tiered and vertically integrated management.

It's never trivial to manage resources in cloud environment. Traditional management approaches will not work due to the scale, dynamics and evolution of the cloud.

Here we propose an agent framework to solve the problem. First,

we invent a method to organize resources and corresponding

management functions,

which is composed of two parts: 1) a meta-model,

which consistently describes various resources, such as

software, hardware or any abstract system modules; 2) a structural approach,

which organize corresponding management

functions in off-the-shelf modules. The following is the definition of the model.

Second,

we also invent a agent system at enables tiered and vertically integrated management

.

A local agent will resolve the

management capability in the context, i.e.

when a resource is loaded, automatically.

A lead agent is elected,

which will responsible

for 1) construct a hierarchical view of resources in the whole system by cooperation between agents; 2) route a user request to the management function to the right agent based on the hierarchical view. Here are two figures to illustrate how a resource tree is constructed and how a request is routed.
