Disclosed is a method and system for searching for computer systems in a lab.

Typically, users search for computer systems in a lab by providing one or more attributes to a lab management system.

search engine retrieves one or more computer systems matching the attributes provided by the user. Generally, the search results include one or more computer systems that exactly match with the one or more attributes provided by the users. Thus, the search engine sometimes retrieves no results if no computer systems match every attribute provided by the user. Therefore there is a need for partially matching the one or more attributes input by the user.

The method and system disclosed herein provides a search engine that retrieves one or more computer systems by partially matching one or more attributes provided by a user. The attributes may include, but are not limited to, one or more hardware attributes, one or more Operating System (OS) attributes and, one or more software attributes.
