Abstract

A bale wrapper as it is known e.g. from US 5822967 has two diametrically and inline oriented wrapping arms, each carrying a film bobbin at its end. Such wrapping arms may extend beyond the lateral boundaries of the wrapper or a baler it is connected to and may exceed the allowed transport width on streets.

Reducing Transport Width of a Wrapping Machine

A bale wrapper as it is known e.g. from US 5822967 has two diametrically and inline oriented wrapping arms, each carrying a film bobbin at its end. Such wrapping arms may extend beyond the lateral boundaries of the wrapper or a baler it is connected to and may exceed the allowed transport width on streets.

Three alternatives are shown, by means of which the radially outer ends of the wrapping arms can be brought into a position inside the lateral boundaries of the wrapper or baler.

I) the arms are stored in a transport position in a direction slanted to the driving direction, the bobbins are oriented such that at least one may assume a position inside the wrapper or baler and the pivot of the arms is excentric;

II) the arms have outer sections, which are pivotably connected to a diametric inner section and are pivoted with respect to said inner section towards the center of rotation. Bobbins pivot with respect to each outer section individually.

III) the bobbins are carried by outer section, which are pivotably connected to a diametric inner section and are pivoted with respect to said inner section towards the
