Disclosed is a method and system for providing a secure authentication process while a user logs into a secured domain. The system utilizes smart mobile phone of a user for completing authentication of the user.

In accordance with the system, an authentication application is installed on a smart mobile phone of the user while the user gets registered with the secured domain. As a part of the registration, the smart mobile phone of the user and the secured domain exchange a set of privileged security keys. The set of privileged security keys is used for authenticating the user every time the user attempts logging into the secured domain.

Consider an exemplary implementation, wherein a user is attempting to log-in to a secured domain. To start with the user is required to enter user name and password associated with the user. In response to receiving these credentials from the user, the secured domain pops up a human unreadable screen to the user. In order to decode the human unreadable screen, the user uses the authentication application installed on the smart mobile phone of the user. The user aligns the smart mobile phone over top of the human unreadable screen. Subsequently, the authentication application scans the human unreadable screen and optically decodes it using the set of privileged security keys.
