Disclosed is a method for collecting debris while reworking on metal parts.

Generally, while drilling a hole on a surface of a metal part of a machine, debris is created. This debris may get collected at different areas in the machine.

The method disclosed herein, prevents the debris from getting collected at different areas of the machine. A magnet may be provided around a location where a metal part is to be reworked. For example, in Fig. 1, a hole is drilled on the metal part. In this case, magnet "A" shaped as a ring is placed around the drilling location. Therefore, debris caused due to the drilling sticks to magnet "A" instead of getting collected at different areas in the machine. In an embodiment, the magnets may be configured and customized based on size and shape of the metal parts.

Further, there may be cases when reworks need to be performed on different metal parts of the machine. In such cases, the shape of the metal parts to be reworked may be different. For example, in Fig. 2, several rectangular shaped magnets, such as magnet "B" are connected in series around a drilling location. These magnets are configured to collect the debris from the drilling.
