Abstract

A system to apply RFID tags on diagnostic medical device operators is disclosed. The proposed system comprises a receiver to receive the tag position. A control software is installed on the medical device to check the position of the RFID tag. The proposed system improves the patient health safety. Also, the system provides a cost effective way to maintain patient health safety.

FIELD OF INVENTION

The invention generally relates to medical diagnostic systems and more particularly to Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag for patient health safety.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Typically, patients are able to move a medical device when technicians are not in the examination room. Further, the patients may operate the medical device when the examination room door is closed. Henceforth, the patient health safety is at risk.

Conventional patient safety systems require complicated designs and maintenance efforts to disable the medical device motion function. Also, the technicians are not warned about the error in the operation of the medical device.

Hence, there exists a need to provide a cost effective way to maintain patient safety and to integrate the operator position localization into safety control logic of the software. Further, there is a need to disable device motion when the RFID tag is not placed on the medical device and to enable motion function when RFID tag is placed on the medical device.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The invention provides a system to apply RFID tags on diagnostic medical device operators. The proposed system comprises a receiver that is placed on the medical device to receive the tag position. Further, control software is installed on the medical device to check the position of the RFID tag. The system described herein improves patient health

safety. Also, the proposed system provides a cost effective way to maintain patient health safety.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The invention discloses a system for applying RFID tags on diagnostic medical device operators. RFID tags are placed on the diagnostic medical device operator. Each operator contains an RFID tag. The proposed system further comprises one or more receivers to receive the tag position.
