I.II About GSA Protocol Extensions
Adoption of extensions to GSA protocols is governed by GSA Policy GP128, available for download from the
main GSA web site.
Extensions to a GSA protocol are developed by a GSA member and donated to GSA unconditionally. When
an extension is approved by a technical committee and/or the GSA Board of Directors, it is initially
documented separately, as in this document, but is then scheduled for inclusion in the next major revision of
the associated GSA protocol.
Extension documents only define the extended components of a GSA protocol and must be used in
conjunction with the original GSA protocol on which the extension is based. For example: in an extension to
the G2S protocol, if the extension adds new attributes to an existing command that originally contained several
attributes, the extension documentation will not document those original attributes, which are already
