Abstract

A method and system is provided to integrate seamless playing of videos with video search.  A dedicated play area on the user interface of an Internet website is provided.  The videos played in the dedicated play area remain unaffected when the user performs another action in the Internet website.

Description

Disclosed is a method and system for integrating seamless playing of videos with video search.  Internet websites providing video playing and video searching capabilities, allows users to either perform a video search or play a video.

The method and system disclosed herein, provides a dedicated play area in the user interface of an Internet website.  A video played by a user is played in the dedicated play area of the Internet website.  The dedicated play area is unaffected when the user performs another action in the Internet website, for example executing a new search query.  When the new search query is executed on a webpage of the Internet website, a new set of results is displayed on the webpage.  However, the dedicated play area is not refreshed, thereby continuing to seamlessly play the video.  In an exemplary instance, when the user performs a search using the Internet website where the video is played, the video continues to be played seamlessly in the dedicated play area of the Internet website without being affected.

In an instance of the method and system disclosed, the dedicated play area of the Internet website plays a video playlist.  When the user watching a video clicks on a new video, the new video is added to the video playlist.  Once a video that is currently played completes, the new video in the video p...
