Abstract

A tracking system that corresponds between tractor and self propelled harvesting machine (e.g. combine or forage harvester) for harvesting or other field work, to evaluate a synchronization of speed between both tractor and harvesting machine. This provides a fuel consumption reduction through synchronic speed adjustment and even trailer loading when harvesting or other field work

Harvesting Automation System

The intention of this proposal is to build a tracking system that corresponds between tractor and self propelled harvesting machine (e.g. combine or forage harvester) for harvesting or other field work, to evaluate a synchronization of speed between both tractor and harvesting machine. This provides a fuel consumption reduction through synchronic speed adjustment and even trailer loading when harvesting or other field work.

The Harvesting Automation System (HAS) would be able to recognize through sensors built in the trailer, which measures the exact trailer load at the full length and height of the trailer, and constantly would send the information to the controller of the self propelled harvesting machine. The controller would increase or reduce the harvesting machine speed to ensure an even filling of the trailer during harvesting procedure. Also would recognize when trailer is full and would reduce speed and would stop the filling process until next trailer is reached to start HAS filling of trailer again. The HAS would also stop the harvesting and would guide the tractor with trailer and the combine in a perfect radius when turning to the next work rows (Similar as Automation Tractor Systems), with synchronic distance between tractor with trailer and combine.

Trailer sensors measure filling process load of the trailer (length & height) and sends info to the combine to increase or reduce travel speed:
