Abstract

This article describes a system and method for sorting enterprise social communities based on user's enterprise organization chain and social activities.The organization chain can be retrieved from enterprise current system link LDAP,Database etc. User social activities can be subscribed from Enterprise current collaboration systems.With these information, the system introduces a new community weighting method when user do community search by keywords.The result communities will be sorted by the weight.

Social software is popular now.It is also widely used in an Enterprise to provide effective collaboration model for end users to improve the productivity.There is a common activity for us to search the communities with keywords. But you find that the search result is not so well sorted for you.There are already some prior arts for sorting communities with different weight algorithms. But for a end user in an enterprise environment, the better result is that the communities which have more close social relation with you or more authoritative should be sorted in front.

This disclosure contains a system to sort enterprise community by weighted social-relation/authority rating system, it attempts to automatically identify the communities that have more close social relation and more authority for end user, which would help end

user quickly locate his/her favorite communities. This method uses a variety of elements to sort enterprise social communities during searching, include enterprise organization chain and user social activities

The core idea of this invention is a social-relation/authority rating system to automatically sort enterprise social communities for end user. To sort which communities should be uppermost for end user, this system automatically takes into account a number of elements, including:


By enterprise organization chain
Which community contains people in your report chain (for example, a community' has more people in your report chain as member, it is more likely important to you)

Which community contains enterprise high level manager/expert(If a community has more enterprise high level
manager/expert as member, it is more likely authoritative)


By user social activities
Which community contains people who you often take social activities with (If a community has more people you usually have social activities with, like post content in his/her Blog, comment his/her status etc, no matter these people in your report chain or not, it is more likely your favorite)

Which community contains people who you usually collaborate with(If a community has more people you have collaborated

with, like working for same activities, be a member in same community etc, no matter these people in your report chain or not, it is likely more important to you)

Via this system, end user can get the communities sorted against your social relation and authority, which help end user get his/her favorite/important communities efficiently. Figure 1 is the general workflow of this system and detailed implement is also supplied below.
