Description

Disclosed is a method and system of utilizing user generated content from content hosting websites for advertising.

Advertisers may find a large amount of user generated content that features content of commercial interest in content hosting websites, for example, FLICKR*.  Advertisers may use the user generated content to advertise their product, instead of investing money in creating advertisements.

Fig. 1 shows the implementation of the disclosed method and system.  In an exemplary scenario, a content hosting website and one or more advertisers may enter into a partnership to allow the one or more advertisers to access content in the website for advertising purposes.  Thereafter, the content hosting website may provide a user with an option to allow the one or more advertisers to use content uploaded by the user.  The content may include, images, audio, video and multimedia content.

In an exemplary scenario, the user may be provided with an agreement stating the terms and conditions of an advertising system.  On agreeing to the terms and conditions, the user allows one or more advertisers to access the content generated by the user to.    An advertiser may log into a content hosting website and search for content that may be of commercial interest such as content related to, but not limited to, a product, a service and a brand.  Once the advertiser selects a matching content, the advertiser may be presented with an option to create and launch an ad campaign.  The created ad campaign will be send to an advertising platform.  The advertiser may be presented with a User Interface (UI), wherein the advertiser may modify the content to suit a theme of the ad campaign.  The advertiser may modify the content by adding additional content not limited to, a logo, a promotional message and brand information.  Thereafter, the advertiser may specify parameters such as, but not limited to, a start and end date of the adver...
