Method and System for Suggesting a Maintenance Action for a Vehicle based on Forecasted Weather Information and Travel Routes

Disclosed is a method and system for suggesting a maintenance action for a vehicle based on forecasted weather information and a travel route of the vehicle. Current weather conditions and forecasted weather information of a location are determined. For example, the current and forecasted weather conditions for a specific route may be determined. Similarly, the current and forecasted weather information for a destination may be determined. The current and forecasted information may be determined using a web service and displayed accordingly. For example, the figure illustrates an exemplary screenshot of a webpage with interstate forecasted weather information for a route "I-5" on a particular date.

In addition to determining the weather conditions on the travel route, a maintenance action that is currently required or may be required for the vehicle in order to traverse the route is determined. For example, forecasted weather condition on route "I-5" and maintenance actions required to travel on route "I-5" may be determined. The maintenance action is determined by correlating the forecasted weather information with information such as a current state of the vehicle. If there is no maintenance action required, the owner of the vehicle is not prompted for any maintenance action. However, if a maintenance action is required, the user is alerted of such a maintenance action. Additionally, this information is shared with maintenance companies that are located in the vicinity of the vehicle. The maintenance companies may be provided with
