Abstract

During medical examination, sometimes medical imaging is necessary. After the scan of the specific medical imaging is accomplished the initial analysis is performed by the physician by manipulating the images via some operations like subtraction, image filtering, distortion correction etc. For each of the operations a new set of images is created on the task pane. After finishing the operations, the physician marks findings and ROIs (Regions of Interest) on the final set of images. Only this final set of images is sufficient for further diagnosis. The remaining intermediate images produced as a result of various operations are not needed. But, in fact, all results of various operations, even if they are not needed any more, are saved.

of images is sufficient for further diagnosis. The remaining intermediate images produced as a result of various operations are not needed. But, in fact, all results of various operations, even if they are not needed any more, are saved.

Up to now, once the work item is completed, all the intermediate results are saved combined with the original data for image manipulation techniques.

There are two novel solutions to the problem mentioned above including the use of an application like mbox. In solution 1, the number of images, resulting from manipulations is available in the task pane, as depicted in figure 1. Then after selection of the required images, the selected results are highlighted. After that a "save" option is provided in order to save them. Multiple items can be selected by pressing the Control (CTRL) Button.
