With so many options on cloud servers and on-premise infrastructures, system administrators are continually setting up environments to meet changing needs. In order to design a system that really meets their needs, they spend hours, days, and months to find best practices and configurations for so many different cases and needs.

In some cases, administrators create the infrastructure they need and implement it. In other cases, they may build an infrastructure that they are not going to implement, and are left with a template that they can sell.

The disclosed invention is a method to set up a service around selling and purchasing, through a cloud-based broker or auction, system infrastructures. This allows customers to buy and sell templates based on their needs and what they have to sell.

One approach to "cloud configuration in auction" is for a cloud computing resource broker. The disclosed invention is not about cloud service brokers, but allows customers and service providers to buy and sell their templates or cloud resources.

Implementation

1. Cloud auction/broker system allows customers to search available templates or solutions by keywords, date, publishers, etc.


2. Customer can buy templates, and then the fees go to the template provider

3. Customer can buy solutions that are actual cloud resources (e.g., an entire infrastructure for large trade system that has handled 1,000 of requests per second for last 3 months; a large traffic web site that hosted a jam activity for the last month; a system that has analyzed 100 TB of genome data in 5 days; etc.)

4. Seller has multiple options to sell their solution (e.g., expected time to complete and price per each timeline; "a banking system with 1,000,000 transaction per second, with xyz" 5 days with $100,000, or 10 days with $60,000).

5. Cloud auction system analyzes the usage and traffic of those resources that are claiming what they have done to do a preliminary check for validation
