Abstract

A method and system for increasing brand awareness using a poll-type advertisement is disclosed.

Description

Disclosed is a method and system for increasing brand awareness using a poll-type advertisement.  In accordance with the method and system, advertisers may enroll to display a variety of poll-type advertisements in order to increase brand awareness among consumers.  The poll-type advertisement may be displayed on a website using one or more Application Programming Interfaces (API), for example, Right Media Exchange (RMX) API that may use, for example, Simple Objects Access Protocol (SOAP) over Hyper Text Transfer Protocol (HTTP) to interact with users participating in the poll-type advertisement.

In an embodiment, the poll-type advertisement may be displayed according to an area of interest of the advertiser of a brand.  For instance, an advertiser of a sports products brand may start a poll on “Who will win the World cup this season?”. Similarly, a cosmetic brand advertiser may create a poll on “Who will win Miss Universe this year?”, Likewise, an environment awareness organization may create a poll on “What kind of human activity causes maximum CO2 footprint ?”.  In another embodiment, the poll-type advertisement may be displayed in accordance with occurrence of real-time events in which a user may be interested.  The poll-type advertisement may be displayed at one or more of regular intervals of time and one or more random instants of time.  For example, poll-type advertisements may be displayed once in a week and when a new product is about to be released.
