Typically, patients who are taken to a hospital using an ambulance are exposed to contaminants, diseases, unsterilized equipment in the ambulance, etc. There is a need for preventing exposure of patients travelling in the ambulance to such contaminants.

Disclosed is a method and system for selecting an ambulance to be dispatched based on medical conditions of a patient. After requesting an ambulance, the patient shares patient state information using a card, RFID, etc., with the ambulance dispatch service. The patient state information includes treatments that should or should not be provided to the patient and what exposures would be a risk within an enclosed space of the transport vehicles. The card holds information such as medical conditions (e.g., flu, cold, HIV, heart condition) and time frame for most recent medical condition, allergies, recommendations for travel approved by a doctor, claustrophobic status, organ donor status, next of kin, contact numbers for emergency, recent exposure, and to what level a medical personal can access the information if the patient is unconscious.

Further, an Emergency Medical Team (EMT) personnel is required to provide state of an ambulance to the ambulance dispatch service. The state of an ambulance includes recent cleaning data, and list of chemicals involved etc., GPS maps of all areas and locations the ambulance has driven through, for example up to 2 weeks, names of plots of known exposures to diseases, radiation, viruses, asbestos, list of diseases associated w...
