Abstract

Loggers usually fast forward the video to find the scene that they are interested in to save time, but they may lose some key frames at scene change. This idea provides the solution to this problem.

Background

Following are pictures recorded by a broadcaster.

1.    Before the time at 01:08:10 in Fig. 1, it is a journalist who is talking on weather with similar background. To make logging faster, the logger adds one marker at the first beginning, and plays the video at 4X speed to find some other scenes.

2.    When there comes out the scene change, it only takes a very short time (less than one second under 4X faster play) that Fig. 2 goes to Fig.3. In this short duration (within 1 second), logger needs to add a marker and input some words, such as “low degree meter, cold”.  It is very hard to human logger and the scenes about Thermometer may be even missed at all at higher speed, like 8X. Logger has to stop the fast play and go back to watch the scene change snippet again, which is not efficient for logging.
