New Approach to Server Builds

Problem Definition -

Generic Server Build Process Flow -

Issues with the process flow-

- Duplication of efforts by various teams to come up with the build template used by build team.

- Increased communication and paper work due to the process flow and support items.

- Errors and change requests occur frequently in the above process.

Problem Definition -

- The current server build process has lot of redundant and waste processes which can be eliminated with new approach to server build which incorporates the new format supported with automation and improvements.

Proposed Idea and Solution -

Create a Server Build Template which can -

Serve as Technical Solution Document

Supports data in the much more organized manner having cross linkages.

Supports automation of creating the support documents automatically with the base document.

Advantage of Idea-

1) Consolidated single Project Document organized in logical manner that is easy to reference.

2) Effort savior in creation of the Technical Solution Document & dependent documents.

3) Minimal errors in creating documents for the same project.
