Abstract

A method for generating and delivering content based on mood of a user is disclosed.  The method allows targeted advertising based on an emotion of the user.

Description

Disclosed is a method for generating and delivering content based on mood of a user.  The mood of a user may be captured in multiple ways to generate and deliver appropriate content to the user.  Updates related to the mood of the user in one or more social networking sites can be used to determine the current mood of the user.  Alternatively, the mood of the user may be determined by collecting inputs from a third party such as friends, parents, doctor, etc.  Devices used to detect changes in human nervous system may also be used to detect the mood of the user.  In another embodiment, the user may manually provide the mood information.  Information corresponding to the mood of the user is then fed into a content delivering engine so that content appropriate to the mood of the user may be presented to the user.

Further, a timeline of emotional state of the user derived from the mood information may be linked with the content delivery engine.  Using the timeline of emotional state of the user, an emotion of the user is predicted which may be used for targeted delivery of advertisements to the user.  Further, the mood information of the user may be stored in a user profile to deliver customized content to the user across var...
