Method and System for Using Facial Recognition to Automatically Archive Images

Disclosed is a method and system for utilizing facial recognition to determine one or more images associated with a face set, and further archive the one or more images. Thus, the disclosed method and system may perform automatic selection of one or more images associated with a face set as opposed to manual selection .

In an exemplary implementation, the system comprises of a user interface, a facial recognition system, a selection module, and a file archive system.

The user interface is configured to allow a user to select a face set , and further to enable/disable the facial recognition function.

When a user clicks on a facial recognition button displayed on the user interface , the facial recognition system starts to recognize a set of unique faces from a set of selected images. The set of unique faces is then displayed on the user interface . A user selects

one or more faces from the set of unique faces to archive one or more images associated with the one or more faces. Subsequently, the selection module pulls out one or more images from the selected set of images associated with the one or more selected faces. Finally, the file archive system is used to archive the one or more images associated with the one or more faces in a file .
