A method or system to automatically disable vehicle windshield wipers at manned tollbooths

This invention automatically disables a vehicle's windshield wipers when approaching a manned tollbooth. Many highways post a sign requesting that the vehicle operator turn their windshield wipers off when they are approaching a tollbooth (so the tollbooth operator is not splashed by the wiper movement), with the tollbooth operator being at the mercy of the vehicle operator remembering to do so.

The tollbooth is equipped with a transmitter which sends a signal a short distance. Vehicles are equipped with a receiver that recognizes the tollbooth signal, sending a disable signal to the vehicle's windshield wipers when the vehicle approaches the tollbooth. The windshield wipers resume operation once the vehicle proceeds and is beyond the range of the tollbooth signal.
