Method and System for Providing an Option to Enter Connecting Hubs for Searching Flights

Disclosed is a method and system for providing an option to enter connecting hubs for searching flights.

The method and system provides an option to enter connecting hub and direction information along with FROM and TO options for searching flights. The option of "connecting hub" provides a field to the user to pick a connecting hub. The direction option allows the user to pick which flight segment the user wants to stop at the connecting hub. The possible values for direction information field may be out going, returning, or both.

With the new options, a user can enter FROM, TO, connecting hub and direction to search for flights. For example, if a user enters FROM=Austin, TO=Los Angeles, connecting hub=Vancouver, direction=out going , then the search results contain all flights with Vancouver as one of the connecting hubs for out-going flights and all flights between FROM and TO destinations without Vancouver as a connecting hub. The user can now find the cheapest airfare and can decide whether to stop over at Vancouver or not.

Thus, the disclosed method and system provides an option to search for flights with a preferred connection hub.
