Abstract

A method and system for showing relevant content from other databases by searching emails of users is disclosed. 

Description

Disclosed is a method and system for showing relevant content from other databases by searching emails of users.  One or more keywords associated with the context of the emails are extracted from a conversation to provide relevant content from one or more databases. 

In a scenario, a user has a conversation regarding a particular topic with another user.  For example, the user has a conversation over an email about taking up a technical course in a particular field.  The user uses one of, but not limited to, an email and an Instant Messenger (IM) to communicate with the other user.  One or more keywords associated with the context of the emails are extracted using one or more of, text parsers and natural language processing techniques.  For example, keywords such as course name, institution name, duration, fees etc. are extracted from the email being composed by the user.  Thereafter, the method and system uses the extracted keywords for searching for content in one or more databases and provides the user with content that is relevant to the context of the conversation.  In a scenario, the one or more databases include social network databases such as, but not limited to, LinkedIn* and Facebook*.
