Most display advertisements (ads) seen online today have some form of animation along with audio-visual elements. Thus there is a user experience associated with viewing of such ads. Users may wish to share this experience with other users. As of now there is no easy method for sharing the advertisement (ad) experience. This is because different users are served different ads depending on the ad serving parameters. Also, most ad campaigns are run for fixed periods, after which the same ad might not be shown.
Disclosed is a method and system for sharing an ad experience. The method and system provides users with an option of sharing the ad experience with other users using a network such as a social network. For example, users can be provided with links such as “share this ad experience with a friend” while displaying advertisements to users, thereby enabling the users to share the ad experience with other users over a social network.
In a scenario, the method provides an option to a user to specify the ad along with the Uniform Resource Locator (URL) of a web page for sharing the ad experience with other users. The ad can be specified using an ad id associated with the ad. Accordingly, when th...
