Description (Components, Process)

The design incorporates close proximity to the active electrode as well as encompassing it for 360 degrees, absorbing the spread of excitation.The design could be implemented in many configurations/shapes (e.g., circles, squares, rectangles, three-dimensional (3D) formed electrode contacts, etc.) The electrode could be manufactured using conventional wire and metal contacts or processed using thin film lithography/deposition type processes then encapsulated in a silicone carrier. This design could also be useful for directly measuring/monitoring the electrical output of the stimulating electrode contacts.
