Method and System For Automatically Tracking Code Changes Made In a Code Stream in Real Time

Disclosed is a method and system for automatically tracking code changes made in a code stream by a plurality of coders in real time. The code changes made in the code stream may be tracked simultaneously without a screen sharing application but with a

web Integrated Development Environment (IDE) tool of a user. The web IDE tool may keep track of a section of the code modified recently by a particular coder and may generate a notification to the particular coder when any area of the modified section of the code is touched by another coder's cursor. All changes made by any coder may be

highlighted corresponding to the coder's profile so that the changes are visible to other coders in real time. The web IDE tool may also allow any coder to highlight and make notes on a section of code and tag other coders so that the other coders are aware of the notes. Also, the web IDE tool may have a collapsible side view where the plurality of coders can see a number of windows that show live feeds of other coders' activity in the code stream. The collapsible side view may also allow any coder to check who are editing the code regardless of whether or not the edits trigger a notification .

Thus, the method and system described herein allows a coder to track changes in a code stream made by other coders in real time without a screen sharing application .
