Abstract

Shadow detection and removal is very important in the entrance guard system, the safety monitoring and so on. We propose a shadow detection and removal apparatus based on physical features and morphological methods, We use four aspects information, illumination,color feature, chrominance and texture, to get sub-object and use morphology methods to get the real contour of object and direction of expand. At last we propose four aspect information to restrict the expansion,including gray value, gradient value, the invariance of texture subspace and color information.

There are mainly three steps to get the real objects, Firstlywe use four aspects information, illumination,color feature, chrominance and texture, to get sub-object.

Then we use morphology methods to get the real contour of object and direction of expand . At last we propose four aspect

information to restrict the expansion,including gray value, gradient value, the invariance of texture subspace and color information.

In conclusion we propose a method and apparatus of shadow detection and removal in smart surveillance system
