Points of interest presented by a Global Positioning System (GPS) allows a user to navigate to a given locations as well as find places of interest. An additional function of the system is needed to calculate a combination of possible activities a user may need to complete.

The invention is a system to provide a GPS user with an alert to other possible points of interest, locations for upcoming events, or a location for a subsequent task that the user might need to perform, based on the user's current location, active task, history, and preferences.

The navigation system gathers information about the user's previous actions from previous destinations on the navigation system (e.g., a restaurant five hours ago, a coffee shop two hours ago), a social network, or user marks on the system or other device that can connect to the navigation system. The navigation system analyzes the behavior of the user as well as the collected information (e.g., user goes to dinner between 5:00pm and 6:00pm, user goes to coffee shop every four hours, etc.). The navigation system is also integrated with, or is configured to receive information from, the automobile's computer system. The car can alert the user to any service related need (e.g., oil change, tire pressure, fuel level).
