Abstract

Several source techniques have been developed in order to specifically increase productivity. Vibrator drivers have had navigation assistance system for some time. However, not much effort has been spent trying to help vibrator drivers to optimize their path while leaving them react to real-time constraints. These constraints may not be available at surveying time. This invention aims at optimizing the shooting path of each vibrator, based on the shooting plan and on obstacles. The invention provides the optimum path (script) from vibrator point to vibrator point that allows maximizing the number of vibrator point shots during a given time interval (typically one day). The vibrator driver may or may not follow the recommendation from the invention. The invention constantly optimizes its suggested path in case it is not being followed. The invention is typically implemented on the vibrator’s navigation assistance system, but can be run on the vibrator pusher’s system as well.
