Summary of the Invention

The invention comprises 2 or more duct units, attached via rotating mountings to an insert in the marine seismic streamer. The mounting/duct assemblies are arranged either diametrically-opposite each other with respect to the streamer, or in a Y-shaped arrangement if using 3 ducts.

The ducts are of a cylindrical, cylinder-like or other form to allow direction of water which passes through the annulus at the front end of the duct. The leading edge of the duct's circumference may be removable to permit easy replacement for alternative duct configurations. Several internal configurations are proposed, which include several directional steering/depth-keeping options, and an option which provides directional steering/depth-keeping and active propulsion.
