A Method and System for Managing Multiple Accounts based on a User Perspective using a Cloud Service

A method and system is disclosed for utilizing a cloud service for managing one or more user accounts from a user perspective, wherein the one or more user accounts are associated with one or more services. The cloud based services enables one or more users to configure at least one of the one or more user accounts.

Disclosed is a method and system for automating authentication for Operating System (OS) and application preferences. The method and system helps in reducing the time required by a user while setting up a new device by provisioning accounts or proxy accounts.

In an exemplary implementation, the method and system provides a cloud based service for managing one or more user accounts based on a user perspective. The user can browse and select one or more services via one or more of web based or application based interface on a desktop and application on a mobile device of the user. The method and system provisions one or more accounts with each service and the user configures at least one of or all the one or more accounts via the cloud based service. The user enters only one credential for one or more potential services within the OS and mobile applications. Subsequently, in response to a request from a mobile device proxy application, the proxy service references the request against the user's account to find appropriate credentials for authentication.

In an embodiment, the cloud service maintains a list of services and methods of registration. In a scenario, the user alerts the cloud service provider about newly available services. In response to the alert, the cloud service provider automates one or more of, but not limited to, user registration, End User License Agreement (EULA) and preferences. The method and system simplifies account management for one or more compatible applications and services via an application or OS interface. The application registers and sets preferences for one or more of, but not limited to, mail, calendars, directories, music services, news services, blogs, books, backup services, app stores, photo streams, corporate applications and home automation services. When the user changes one or more devices, the services are automatically registered when the application is run. The cloud service provider utilizes one or more Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to connect to one or more partners. The cloud service provider pre-fills Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML) forms for one or more of registration, setting preferences and EULA acceptance. Subsequently, after registering for the service, the cloud service provider provisions/de-provisions ac...
