Abstract

This invention discloses a method and system to eliminate occlusion and improve accuracy when typing on the touch screen. It is a new designed virtual keyboard system compared to current virtual keyboard. This new keyboard contains only 6 groups of keys on the touch screen. Each group contains two primary keys. There are only 12 keys displayed at first. 3 groups are for 26 characters, 1 for 10 numerical keys, 1 for punctuation and the last group is for function keys. The distribution of keys for each group is from the locationin traditional keyboard. So it’s easy for user to remember where the key is in this new keyboard. When the key wanted already exists in the first displayed keys, just clicking will as the input signal. If doesn't, touch the primary key to extend the keys attached on the primary key. Then just sliding towards to the extened key is as input signal of this key.

Nowadays, smart mobile device with large touch screen becomes mainstream in mobile market. We use it for calling, sending messages, playing games and surfing on the internet. When we want to write something, there is no physical keyboard any more. We use virtual keyboard on the screen instead. We hit the key on the virtual keyboard to input a character. It

                                                                         ' s easy to hit the wrong key due to limitation of screen size. Besides, virtual keyboard takes nearly half space of the whole screen size. We can only see top-half content on current screen while typing.
