Abstract

When users have their brightness turned down on a mobile device, or if their brightness is set to automatic, in a low light scenario, users often have a difficult time seeing if a newly taken photo is of good quality as it is displayed with the backlight on a dim level.

Method to allow users to see picture previews in low light conditions

Currently users can leave the brightness setting of the mobile device at a higher level all of the time, however screen brightness is the part of the mobile device that is the largest drain on the battery.

In low light scenarios, after taking a picture, the picture preview will show itself in a slightly brighter or even full brightness state for the time period of the preview. This will greatly increase the user's ability to determine the quality of any picture that was just taken.
