Abstract

This invention concerns the integration of primary coils for a contactless power system into a vehicle, e.g. an aircraft. During an investigation of possibilities to integrate primary coils for a contactless power system into a vehicle, e.g. an aircraft, we found out that the development of the primary coils enabled the possibility to build the coils very thin. This was the origin of the idea to install the coils at the surface of the floor panel under the carpet. Hereby, an easy maintenance and installation is realised as well.

During an investigation of possibilities to integrate primary coils for a contactless power system into a vehicle, e.g. an aircraft, we found out that the development of the primary coils enabled the possibility to build the coils very thin. This was the origin of the idea to install the coils at the surface of the floor panel. Hereby, an easy maintenance and installation is realised as well.

The goal was an integration of the coils with a minimum of weight impact and easy access.

The integration of the primary coils on top of the vehicle floor panel is a weight saving and easy installing method. Easy maintenance is possible through easy access to the coils. The origin for the idea for this method is the possibility to build primary coils in printed circuit board technology. The coils are installed on top of the floor panel under the carpet.

It is known to install the primary coils under the floor plate. This requires glass-fibre material for the floor panel (to avoid magnetic disturbance in transmission path). Nevertheless, access to the coils is difficult and maintenance complex. The glass-fibre plates are heavier than the carbon fibre floor-plates, which can be used by this invention.

The primary coils are easy to maintain. No additional brackets to fix the coils on position are needed. The coils itself are embedded and laminated with glass-fibre material and resistant against mechanical stress. Maintenance is easy possible from cabin side. Installat...
