Abstract

A method and system is disclosed for normalizing display of information to a user by identifying inconsistencies in portions of the information. The method and system compares different portions of the information and identifies dissimilarities in attributes of the portions such as but not limited to, font size, style, color, speed. Thereafter, the method and system displays normalized information to the user, wherein portions with different attributes are displayed in a uniform manner.

Correlating information and normalizing obviousness to a user

Disclosed is a method and system for normalizing display of information to a user by identifying inconsistencies in portions of the information. The information corresponds to, but is not limited to, a web page, an online offer, an online advertisement, video and audio information. The portions correspond to a text portion, a video segment or an audio segment displayed on a web page or an online offer. The method and system compares different portions of the information and determines their relevance to a user. In a scenario, a portion represents a text that corresponds to either positive information or negative information. The positive information is displayed with a larger font size and a bright color to attract the user's attention. For instance, the positive information is one of, but not limited to, a discounted offer, a deal and advantages and benefits of the deal and the negative information is one of, but not limited to, rates, interest, some hidden information and terms and conditions of the offer. The method and system detects an association between the portions if the difference between the portions, such as within a phrase is above a predefined threshold. The difference between the portions corresponds to, but is not limited to, font size, audio speed and text color. Here, the phrase can be associated with, but is not limited to, an advertisement or a tagline of a product. The details associated with the phrase are also displayed on the same page on which the phrase is displayed. The system then normalizes the portions to provide a uniform display. For instance, a large font text associated with the positive information and a small font associated with the negative information are equalized to a specific font size when an association between the large and small font is detected.

In an exemplary scenario, speed of a fast speech is reduced to normal speed in an advertisement such that the user can listen and understand all parts of the advertisement in a uniform manner. In another exemplary scenario, the method and system normalizes background colors and fonts with bright colors.

In an embodiment, the method and system relocates an item in addition to normalizing. For example, a small font is relocated to an area that is obvious and visible to a user if a large font is displayed in the area obvious to the user and the smaller font is associated with a less obvious area.

In an exemplary scenario, a user visits a web page and hovers mouse pointer on the text 2.51 % APY as shown in fig.1.
