Controlling collaboration around documents or content shared

Problem

Sharing data (images, videos and other files) on collaboration services and social networks are a common trend

These services (Lotus communities, service management connect, cattail, facebook, google+
etc) are used for collaboration, reviews and social networking

Protecting the data on social networking sites, business forums and focusing on the ways in
which users attempt to control the personal information has become very important.

Today when data is posted on these collaboration services owners can control who can see (visibility) of the data, but cannot control the collaboration on the data that has been shared, here are some scenarios which are common pain points but not possible today:

I want to share content, but ensure that the comments from other users on it is not visible

to anyone but the commenter or me

I want to share content, but ensure that only users with a particular group or groups can

see each others comments to ensure that users with in a particular group are not influenced by users from other groups or because discussions within groups are confidential

Some examples for the scenarios listed above:

In a business forum Company X has invited Company 1 , Company 2 and Company 3 to

join its community which showcases the new Software from Company X . As expected , all the three companies will have their own opinions based on their background . For Company X , its the initial stage of the software Life Cycle , and they do not want these comments to be visible to all the invited Companies, but still shareable between employees of a company

In a Social Networking site , a user might want to share a photo with all his friends but does not want the opinions about the photo from various friends in the form of comments to be visible to everyone.

In a Research Company , use of review tools is a common practice and people from

different expertise are invited to give their feedback . The content owner might not want Expertise A to know the feedback from Expertise B and vie-versa

A User might want to share a Document/Photo/Video with others
Today he can select the list of people to share it with by selecting the users or groups or both Once he has selected the people to share the content with, he will then be able to control the collaboration around the content by specifying the visibility of the comments. The options could be
