Various methods of communications are used in business as well as non-business

environments. Generally, users communicate by one or more of, sending emails, texting, talking on the phone and discussing in person, in a very short period of time. One method of communication makes the others obsolete if these communications are about the same or similar topics. Sometimes, due to unavoidable situations a message is conveyed in multiple channels at once, resulting in the message lingering in the mail Inbox or the phone Voicemail until the sender disposes the message.

In an exemplary scenario, User_1 and User_2 work on a project together. User_1 and User_2 have a meeting scheduled for a particular day. User_2 intends to share some thoughts with User_1 regarding an idea. User_2 sends User_1 an email regarding the idea, but User_1 is busy and fails to read the email. During lunch time, User_2 accidentally meets User_1 and decides to discuss the idea with User_1. Following the accidental meeting, the email sent to User_1 by User_2 becomes irrelevant, as the topic is already during the lunch time.

Disclosed is a method and system for processing data based on proximity interactions and disposing unread prior communication messages. The method and system recognizes the data exchanged during a proximity interaction and correlates the information associated with the proximity interaction with various communication channels. Once the interaction is complete, obsolete data present in various communication channels such as e-mail, voicemail, text message and instant messaging are disposed by taking appropriate actions.
